Independence Day 2013

We had a wonderful day celebrating our nation's independence!!  We started the day with a delicious patriotic breakfast!

Then, while I headed to work for a few hours, The Mr. and the kids went to Bug Light Park where they watched kites, had a picnic lunch, and played games put on by the Historical Society.

(Wiggles and her friend Heath)

Just one of the many enormous kites we saw!  They were incredible!

These 2 were great in the Three Legged Race!

Practicing....

And they're off!

Wiggles and Rowan following close behind!

Next up: The Wheelbarrow Race!

And finally, the potato sack race!

These 2 are such great friends!

After the park, we headed to our friends' house for a yummy BBQ dinner, and a chance to cool off in the pool!  (It was a HOT, HOT day!)

After dinner we headed out to another friend's boat to watch the fireworks on the bay.  Of course, the kids didn't need fireworks to have fun - they had all kinds of fun just playing on the boat!

Our friend Dan took them out on the dingy.  Check out that amazing sunset!

My kids were more thrilled by the delicious snacks than anything else, I think. :)

The fireworks finally began!  They were amazing!

The Mr. and Angel were getting tired...

What a fun day!!!
