Angel's Orthodontic Adventures (Part 1)

One day in early June, Wiggles and I picked Angel up from school and took her on a little.  She was SO excited!  I will let the pictures tell the rest of the story....

(SUPER nice hygeinist!!!)

(crying and trying to talk with the funny thing in her mouth, because she didn't want the 'sour glue'....she FINALLY calmed down after LOTS of coersion, and after watching Dr. Razzaghi put some on the hygienist's teeth)

Rose and teal - her 2 favorite colors!

I've had a LOT of people ask why we elected to do braces so young with Angel.  The answer is simple: her mouth (palate) was not forming correctly because of her cross bite, and this needs to be corrected while her palate is still growing (before ~age 10).  It was also doing significant damage to the teeth which were forced behind her bottom teeth when biting.  But basically, the braces were to fix FUNCTION and normalize GROWTH - not for cosmetic reasons.  Just FYI. :)
