Culture Night: Thailand


We enjoyed some delicious Thai food, including Pad Thai, vegetable spring rolls, miang sok kum som oh, and rambatan (fruit).  It was delicious and we had a great time preparing it together while learning about Thailand!

Here's the line up of ingredients for the Miang sok kum som oh - cilantro, dried shrimp, peanuts, pickled garlic, ginger, onion, toasted coconut, lime and thai peppers.  (wow - those things are HOT!!!)  You mix it together, stuff it in a spinach leaf, and pop it in your mouth for a magical explosion of flavor!

Grins and Daddy made the delicious spring rolls.



Dessert was Haupia and rambutan (a delicious and funny looking fruit that you peel and eat - similar to lychee).




Those Thai folk know how to do it! :)
