Kids Fun Run

As soon as we got to Oregon, we learned about a Kids Fun Run.  Our kids love having fun, and we love them to run, so we jumped at the chance to participate!  True to its title, it was a very fun event!

I took about a million pictures of Wiggles warming up.  She is just so cute!!!

There she is at the starting line, awaiting the start of the race!  Sadly, the racetrack was so crowded I couldn't get a good picture of her actually racing.  But she did great!

Grins did an amazing job!  He was third in his age group (see video below!)

 
















Angel decided to follow in her father's footsteps and run barefoot.  She convinced her cousin Ryan to join her as well.  She took pride in the fact that the two of them were the only barefoot runners there!

After the race, we enjoyed a myriad of other fun fitness activities.  The highlight was definitely climbing the rock wall!  The kids all climbed at the same time.  They gave it a great effort, but Angel and Grins grew fearful as they neared the middle of the wall, and both refused to climb any higher.  Wiggles, on the other hand, didn't even look down.  She started climbing and pushed straight up, making it up to the top in record time!  When she arrived at the top and looked down at us, however, she realized how very high she was, and it was then that the fear hit her.  She was so scared she didn't want to climb down - but soon realized it was the only way to return to safety, so she carefully made her way back down.

Given the heat, the dunk tank was, naturally, another highlight!  It was no surprise that the kids all preferred being dunked to dunking someone else! :)

All in all, it was a fun day!
